Background

Coach Vidal was born & raised in Independence, Oregon. He graduated from Nazarene Bible College. Community Member of the Year - 2023. 

Achievements

Coach Vidal has a 127-19 high school record with just under 100 pins. 3 time District champion (only 2 exist from Central), 5th 123lb in OSAA State championship (1991), 4th 121.5lb in Oregon Wrestling Association Freestyle state championship (1991), 2x member of Team Oregon Jr. National Championship team (1990 & 1991), Oregon Cultural Exchange Team vs New Zealand and Japan. 

Coach Vidal was an assistant coach for Central Panther High school 2001-2013. Coach Vidal is entering his 9th year coaching with Panther kids and became Head Coach in 2016. In His spare time he enjoys antiquing with his partner Brandy, spending time with his son Diego and their 3 dogs and 38 year old parrot. Vidal also loves acting and dancing with the local community theater and dance troupes. PS: Did we mention he was born, missing his lower left arm?!

Vision

Coach Vidal's vision for PKW is to teach a lead with your face style of wrestling to kids in our community. He will teach the basic skills using chain wrestling, which lead to better technical styles. 

His goal for PKW is that every child try out for wrestling. That every parent would see the valuable life skills that wrestling teaches. And everyone and anyone can wrestle!

Skyler has coached with PKW since 2022. He is a highly respected wrestling coach known for his exceptional skills and dedication to the sport. Born and raised in a small town, Skyler discovered his passion for wrestling at an early age. Skyler recognized a calling to inspire and mentor young wrestlers. Armed with his own experiences and a deep understanding of the sport, he embarked on a coaching journey that has left an indelible mark on many of the children that have come through our club. 

Achievements

Throughout his high school career, Skyler achieved remarkable success as an athlete. Earning District placer a total of 3 times, as well as two-time State qualifier. 

Vision

Skyler's vision for the club is to promote, and support our youth amateur wrestling at all levels in our community. While ensuring they learn important life lessons and morals, such as equality and sportsmanship on and off the mat.

Coach Tim started wrestling in the first grade and wrestled all the way through high school. He is from a small town in Western Montana. Couch Tim started coaching kids when he attended college. He moved to Oregon after college and found PKW was looking for help and jumped at the chance to coach. After a small break from coaching due to work schedules Coach Tim has returned! 

Fun fact about Coach Tim, One of my former wrestling coaches is now his Father-in-Law!

Achievements

In 6th grade he took state champion in the "Little Guy Wrestling" Program. He made it to Montana State Wrestling Tournament several times in High School. During his 4 years in high school, the wrestling team was a dominant program, only losing one dual meet! 

Vision

Coach Tim finds coaching rewarding and fun! He believes he owes a lot to wrestling and the lessons he learned as a kid on the mat, transfer to so many things in life... hard work brings success, how to handle winning and losing with dignity and grace, self control, will power, and the ability to keep grinding when things get tough. He hopes that the kids he helps can also learn these traits, and others, that will help them not only win on the mat, but in life also.

He believes wrestling is the ultimate sport and is never tired of watching it and analyzing matches.
